The Breast Ultrasound Course 2019 by Apffelstaedt and Associates in Panorama, South Africa, offers an intensive exposure to all problems encountered in daily breast practice.
It provides CPD-accredited training in Imaging and Pathological Correlation in Breast Health and Disease.
This course is directed at clinicians involved in breast care such as surgeons, gynaecologists and general practitioners with an interest in female health as well as radiologists, mammographers and radiographers with a special interest in breast imaging.
The course equips the participant with a solid base, and consists of a scientific program and lectures, with practicals.
Topics covered in the various lectures are: Physics of breast ultrasound & ABVS (Automated Breast Volume Scanning), normal breasts and prostheses, benign conditions of the breast including breast prostheses, complications as well as malignancies and interventional procedure of the breast.
A special emphasis is placed on clinical applications of Automated Breast Volume Scanning.
The course director is Doctor Justus Apffelstaedt, who has a wealth of experience in practical ultrasound of the breast as well as in teaching breast ultrasound internationally. Faculty and tutors are all seasoned breast ultrasound practitioners.
The course consists of an extensive practical session utilising state-of-the-art equipment. This session will include a practical demonstration of both interventional biopsies as well as patients with defined pathology.
